Terms of Service

The deal

We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to play the strip. Don't cheat, don't exploit bugs for gain, don't attack the service, don't harass other players.

Virtual items and currency

In-game cash, gems, cars, parts, and cosmetics are licensed game content, not property. They have no real-world monetary value, cannot be traded between players, and cannot be redeemed for money. We may rebalance game values as part of normal operation.

Purchases

Real-money purchases are sold by us and processed securely by Stripe, we never see your card number. Gem packs are one-time purchases credited to your account. Prices are shown in USD; where we are required to collect VAT or sales tax it is shown at checkout.

The strip pass (subscription)

The strip pass is a recurring monthly subscription, currently $7.99 per month. Starting one authorises us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method the same amount every month until you cancel. The charge falls on the same day of the month you subscribed, not on the 1st.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from account settings, which opens Stripe's billing page. Cancellation stops the next charge; it is not a refund of the month you are in. Premium runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and rewards already paid out to your account stay there.

Failed payments. If a renewal fails, Stripe retries it for a short period. Premium is not granted for a month that was never paid for, and the free lane of the pass keeps running regardless.

Price changes. We will tell you before the monthly price changes. A change never applies to a month you have already been charged for, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

The pass pays in-game currency and cosmetics. Like everything else in the game, those have no real-world monetary value and cannot be redeemed for money. What a full month of the track pays is published on the pricing page.

Limited packs

Some cosmetic sets are sold as a pack for gems, for a stated window shown in the shop. We do not sell those items again after the window closes, separately or in another pack, and they are not obtainable from crates or by crafting. We may still grant one to an individual account where support needs to put right a mistake.

Fair play

Races are verified server-side by re-simulating your inputs. Tampering with the client, submitting fabricated results, or abusing the economy may result in reversal of gains, suspension, or account termination. Appeals: support@thestrip.io.

Wagers between players

Bets and pink-slip races use in-game items and play-money only. No real-money wagering exists anywhere in the game.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms. Paid but undelivered items at termination are handled per the refund policy.

Liability

The game is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or affects your statutory consumer rights.
